If you're king and you lose an election, you lose only that title. Any titles that use dynastic succession will remain in your dynasty, and you (the star player) will switch to the dynastic holder of your main duke-level title (as determined by the location of your capital), who will now be a vassal of the new king.

If you hold 1 king title, or your highest title is count or duke, the succession law of your primary title applies to all of your titles. If you hold multiple king titles (and no emperor title), each king title has its own succession law.

try giving away wales and see if that fixes it. i think i know whats happening here now. counties and duchies are supposed to go with the primary title to your main heir under elective.
